ABOUT

Hi, I'm Rebecca!

For over two decades, I've been privileged to guide students through one of life's most exciting journeys – the college application process.

I started by helping launch one of California's first online public schools (yes, before Zoom!) as Assistant Head of School at California Virtual Academies. My passion for education then led me to Branson School, where I served as a Trustee, Director of Alumni Relations, and Student Advisor. It was there, helping students craft compelling college essays, land meaningful internships, and navigate their post-graduation paths, that I found my true calling in college counseling.

Armed with a B.A. in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania and a Certificate in College Counseling with Honors from UCLA, I've helped students gain acceptance to their dream schools – from Stanford and Cornell, Bowdoin and Pomona,  UVA and UCLA, and everything in between. But what truly excites me? Helping each student uncover and tell their unique story.

I believe every student has something extraordinary to share – a story waiting to unfold. That's why I've invested over 200 hours in professional development, mastering everything from UC application strategies to creative writing techniques through MothWorks. Like a story that reveals itself page by page, each student's college journey is a process of discovery and growth. And as both a counselor and parent of college students (yes, I'm in the trenches with you!) I've visited countless campuses nationwide to truly understand the priorities of each institution. I also have students I’ve worked with, as well as faculty and administrators who I can connect you with to best understand the culture of the schools you are considering.

When I'm not helping students craft their college dreams, you'll find me volunteering with Next Generation Scholars, supporting first-generation college applicants, swimming in the Bay (yes, it's cold, and yes, I love it!), or exploring Bay Area trails with my trusty companion, Sadie.

As a parent who's navigated this journey with my own children, I understand both the excitement and anxiety of the college application process. Let's work together to make this experience meaningful and manageable for your family.
